Beautiful depiction of the Ancient Egyptian lioness-headed goddess, Sekhmet engraved upon a clay tile on a ready to hang solid wood (pine) plaque.
Stained, this Pine plaque measures approximately 10" x 9" and is roughly 3/4" thick ( 25cm x 22cm x 18mm). The tile measures roughly 7-1/2" x 8" (19.75 x 19cm).
I created this single tile from high fire clay, cut the tile by hand, air dried for several days, then carved it by hand, fired it, then glazed and returned it to the kiln for another firing. The gold highlights are painted with ceramic acrylic paint.
**Only one tile like this exists, what you see in the photo is what you will receive. Colour may vary from PC monitor to smartphone screen**
In Egyptian mythology, Sekhmet was a warrior goddess as well as a goddess of healing. She is depicted as a lioness, the fiercest hunter known to the Egyptians. It was said that her breath formed the desert.
