Sacred Mayan Cenote Ceramic and glass pendant made from high fire clay and fused glass.
I created this pendant from clay, dried and fired it, then glazed the base to give an ancient metallic look and feel, then fired it once again. A third firing was done to fuse sea blue glass to the ceramic base to give the appearance of a sacred jewel.
Threaded onto an adjustable 1mm black Hemp cord. The pendant measures 1-3/4" long 1-1/8" wide by 1/8" to 1/4" thick ( 45mm x 30mm x 4-7mm).
**Only one model has been made, unique creation, what you see in the photo is what you will receive. Colour will vary from PC monitor to smartphone screen.**
A cenote is a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. Especially associated with the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico, cenotes were sometimes used by the ancient Maya for sacrificial offerings.
