Brilliant pale aqua porcelain cabochon of the ancient petroglyph Solar Disc! Porcelain clay is one of the highest firing clays at over 2300F giving the appearance of dense crystallised slightly rough stone when fired.
I hand sculpted and carved this sun from porcelain clay, air dried it for a few days then fired it at over 2300F for over 10 hours. I then painted it with non-toxic glazes and fired once again for several hours.
The cabochon measures roughly 40mm in diameter by 4mm thick and the back is unglazed.
