Handmade cylindrical pendant made from high fire white stoneware pottery clay. This focal bead has been hand formed by me, painstakingly carved with Theban script for "ANGEL", fired, glazed a light teal (greenish blue) with tiny fine silver shavings, then fired once again.
This cylinder bead itself measures 7/8 inch long by 5/8 inch wide by 1/2 inch thick with a hole of 3mm ( 21mm x 15mm x 11mm)
**Only one model has been made, unique creation, what you see in the photo is what you will receive. Colour can appear more or less intense depending on your PC monitor or smart phone screen.**
Origins of the Theban Alphabet:
The origins of the Theban alphabet are lost in the mists of time. It is often called "The Runes of Honorius" after its reputed inventor, Honorius of Thebes. It is also known as the 'Witch's Alphabet'.
The purpose of using an unfamiliar alphabet is to abstract it from the writer's native language. This causes the writer to concentrate more fully upon the inscription and the greater task at hand. Because of this, the Theban alphabet is mostly employed in the makings of talismans and other ritual work. The Theban alphabet is used by witches to write spells, inscriptions and other texts. It serves to disguise the meaning of a text and to give it a mystical quality.
